Asian Hornet Update 27th September 2024

Defra update 27.9.24

Since our last update, another nest has been located, bringing the total to 19 nests found in 2024.

East Sussex
On 24th September the NBU located a nest in Great Maxfield, East Sussex. This was found within 50 meters of the primary nest located in this area on 31st of July. The nest has been destroyed, removed, and sent to the lab for analysis.

Kent
The NBU are monitoring an area in Ashford, Kent in response to a credible but unconfirmed report of YLH.
