Ruislip High School gets bees
Earlier this week Ruislip High School took delivery of its first colony of bees in a hive.

Keen to do more for the environment, Ruislip High School got in touch with PRBKA over a year ago to explore the idea of having its own bees on site.
Since then PRBKA have been working closely with the school to advise on what was needed to start beekeeping and three staff joined the PRBKA 2023 beginners course which included theory and practicals. The theory classes were given at the school in its dedicated Eco-Hub classroom which was an excellent venue and PRBKA is very grateful to the school for use of that facility. The practicals took place over a number of weeks at the PRBKA apiary so that the class could see a wide range of colony development and problems.
PRBKA will be continuing to support the school as they begin to carry out their regular hive inspections and is delighted to be involved in the exciting project which will provide a lot of learning opportunities for the staff and pupils as well as the possibility of a bit of honey!
